Quick Alt Text Guide
- Be descriptive but concise - Keep under 125 characters for better screen reader compatibility
- Use empty alt="" for decorative images - This tells assistive technology to skip purely decorative elements
- Describe function for interactive images - Buttons and links should explain what action they perform
- Avoid "image of" or "picture of" - Screen readers already announce it's an image
- Include visible text - If text appears in the image, include it in the alt description
